About the role
At Mary Potter Hospice, we believe every person deserves dignity, comfort, and support at the end of life. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Team Leader – Allied Health to join our Community Teamin Porirua to provide clinical and operational leadership across psychosocial and therapeutic services.
Reporting to the Community Services Manager and working closely with the Nursing Team Leader, you will lead and coordinate our Allied Health team to deliver high quality palliative care Services in the community:
Promote equitable access to services and uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi in everyday practice
Provide day-today leadership, coordination and support to the Allied Health team
Foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and compassionate care
Lead effective multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings to support seamless patient care, admissions, and discharges
Ensure timely, holistic psychosocial and therapeutic assessments and holistic care planning
Develop and support staff through coaching, mentoring, and professional development
Contribute to service improvements initiatives, innovations and workforce planning
Desired Skills and Experience
About you
You will bring:
A commitment to culturally responsive practice and Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Relevant professional experience in healthcare if a related field
Previous leadership, team coordination, or people management experience
Strong understanding of healthcare delivery, ideally within community, psychosocial, rehabilitation, or palliative care settings
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Confidence working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
A positive, adaptable, and team-focused approach
