Job Description
About the role
As an Occupational Therapist at Mary Potter Hospice, you are a vital member of our multi-disciplinary team. Our clinical, allied health and medical teams work very closely and our size allows for strong, meaningful working relationships across the Hospice.
In this role, you will support and empower patients to engage in everyday activities that are meaningful to them, helping to enhance their quality of life at every stage of their journey.
This is a rewarding opportunity to utilise your skills within a holistic model of care. You will be part of a well-established allied health team, supportive Occupational Therapy colleagues and work closely with our inpatient physiotherapist.
This is a part-time position (24 hours per week), offering flexible work hours. We are committed to supporting work-life balance and can accommodate life commitments, including school holidays where possible.
Desired Skills and Experience
About you
We are looking for someone who brings both professional expertise and genuine compassion. You will have:
Registration as an Occupational Therapist with a current NZ Annual Practising Certificate
Experience working in palliative care, or with patients with palliative needs in community or inpatient settings
The ability to work independently and use initiative when navigating complex situations
Strong skills in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating occupational therapy interventions
A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
A genuine understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in practice
NZ residency or a valid work visa
A current driver’s licence
