Mary Potter Hospice provides specialist palliative care services for people living in Wellington, Porirua and Kāpiti. We provide equitable, compassionate, patient- and whānau- centred, free-of-charge hospice care for patients, families, whānau and carers in the places they call home, and at our Inpatient Unit in Newtown.

Job Description
About the role:
Mary Potter Hospice is searching for a creative multi-talented Assistant Shop Manager for our Thorndon Retail Shop. This is varied role working closely with the Store Manager to help lead and develop a diverse volunteer team and oversee all aspects of operating a high-performing retail store. The hours for this role will be up to 30 hours (negotiable) per week from Monday to Saturday.

What you will do:
Ensure the store is welcoming, and customers choose to shop there
Manage the Volunteers to undertake their roles competently
Ensure that donors feel acknowledged and respected
Ensure that donated goods are of an acceptable quality and presented well for sale.

You will need:
To be an extremely motivated and creative individual
To be comfortable with using technology
Look for ways to grow the business and inspire our valued volunteers
To have excellent communication skills
To be very people-focused and enjoy being part of a close-knit team environment.
NZ residency or a Valid Work visa
Full current driver's licence
