Mary Potter Hospice provides specialist palliative care services for people living in Wellington, Porirua and Kāpiti. We provide equitable, compassionate, patient- and whānau- centred, free-of-charge hospice care for patients, families, whānau and carers in the places they call home, and at our Inpatient Unit in Newtown.

Job Description

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated and friendly multidisciplinary team. In this varied role you will be supporting patients in our In-Patient Unit as well as patients in their homes in the community. You will be supported collegially by a team of Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants and we can support you to develop palliative care skills so you can grow within our organisation. 

This fulfilling and important role provides skilled and compassionate occupational therapy to ensure patients have the opportunity to engage with activities or occupations that are essential and meaningful to them fostering a sense of ability, dignity, and control. 

 

Desired Skills and Experience

You will need to:

  • Be registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand
  • 2+ years’ experience as a registered Occupational Therapist
  • Be required to undertake pre-employment health screening and complete a Ministry of Justice criminal records check
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Have NZ residency or a valid work visa.
